The Navajo Housing Authority, located in Window Rock, Arizona, is seeking an experienced leader to join a dedicated staff in managing the largest Indian Housing Authority in the nation. With a staff of 368 personnel spread across 15 field offices, the new CEO will manage the organization under the direction of a five-member Board of Commissioners. Federal grant funding in the range of $80 – $90 million annually is a key component of the budget, and to date the Navajo Housing Authority has spent over $1 billion towards housing projects.

Ideal candidates will be able to modernize the organization and play an influential role in improving the socioeconomic standing of the Navajo Nation. A working knowledge of public housing – if not Indian housing – is crucial, and fluency in the Navajo language is desirable, but not required. Competitive candidates will have fifteen years of progressively responsible management experience and a Bachelor’s degree in business, public administration, or a related field – a Master’s degree is preferred.

The position is open until filled with first review of resumes on Friday, April 13, 2018. To be considered, submit your resume (including dates of employment plus staff and budgets managed), cover letter, the names of six work-related references (two each: supervisors, direct reports, and colleagues) to: https://secure.cpshr.us/escandidate/JobDetail?ID=322
